The 9th foundation of the Bridgettines at Sipcot, Tamil Nadu in India was established in the midst of the poor and the marginalized.

On 8th December 1989 Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary nine Bridgettines witnessed the foundation laid by Bishop Michael Augustine. The pioneer sisters of this community arrived on 13th May 1990 and were lodged at a guest house, and thus began the Bridgettines Life of Prayer, work, Adoration and service to the parish.

They began by establishing a Nursery School on 1st June 1990. Sisters regularly visited centres and substations to teach catechism to catholic children; took care of the Liturgy and chapel, and also helped patients in the dispensary at Sahayapuram.

On 17th November 1990 the Abbess General Mother M. Tekla Famiglietti laid the Foundation for the new Convent and annexe. With blessings from His Eminence, Simon Cardinal Lourdusamy on 18th August 1993, the Sisters occupied the convent on 23rd September 1993.

In February 1994, a Needle work & Tailoring centre was established to help the underprivileged to earn a living, later adding a hand embroidery work unit. In 1995 a hostel for working girls and students was started. a kindergarten attached to the school which belongs to the diocese, is also being run by the sisters. On 7th Oct 2003 a small dispensary was started to help the needy brethren.
